The Writer, Artist & Teacher

After studying creative writing in her undergrad, Heather fiddled about in the seed strewn, striving and thriving arts community of Atlanta, GA. She completed her artist residency at a treehouse community by successfully penning, directing and performing a play in all rhyme. She co-founded a poetry and performance art series in one of the worst neighborhoods in Atlanta. She performed regularly within arenas like Write Club and Free Poetry on Demand. She co-authored and taught a homesteading, gardening, and traditional arts curriculum to 4-12 year olds. She facilitated nature poetry workshops for teens. For several years, she played flute and sang up a storm in a couple of goofy gypsy bands of merry travelers.

In 2014, she co-founded, with two friends and colleagues who specialize in yoga and acupuncture - the Appalachian Healing of Mother Earth Sanctuary (aHome), a central hub encompassing various modalities of the healing arts, including traditional Western Herbalism, Chinese medicine, and narrative yoga. This up and coming venture is one that will unfold and take flight over the next decade. In its context, she will play the parts of plants and poetry.
